Our Story
GYMNASIUM MATTERS started as a traditional athletic equipment company, founded by Matt's father and focused on new construction, outfitting gymnasiums with basketball systems, volleyball equipment, bleachers, and scoreboards from the ground up.
Matt began working in the business in 2007 and took over operations in 2012. Under his leadership, the company evolved from primarily new construction into a full-service operation: not just selling and installing new equipment, but inspecting, servicing, and repairing existing installations across the region.
The biggest catalyst for growth has been Chicago Public Schools, where GYMNASIUM MATTERS has earned a reputation as the go-to partner for anything and everything a school might need. Athletic equipment, flooring, general contracting, and the unusual stuff too. Parade floats, catering coordination, audio systems, stage curtains, transportation, furniture moving. If a principal needs it done, we figure out how to make it happen.
In 2015, Matt began working with the Chicago Bears, a relationship that led to projects with the Indianapolis Colts, LA Chargers, LA Rams, Arizona Cardinals, and UCLA. That NFL-level trust is the same standard applied to every school gym, park district, and athletic facility we serve.
Today, the company has grown roughly five times its original size, and we're just getting started.

Getting Started
Matt joined the family business, learning the trade from the ground up: equipment sales, installation, and service for gymnasiums across the region.

Matt took over operations and began shifting the business from primarily new construction to a full-service model: sales, installation, inspection, and repair of existing equipment.

The NFL Call
Began working with the Chicago Bears, a relationship that would open doors to the Indianapolis Colts, LA Chargers, LA Rams, Arizona Cardinals, and UCLA.
